Volendam is a relatively small village and popular tourist attraction in Holland. Its popularity with sightseers has made it a teeny bit kitschy, but Volendam’s iconic status isn’t just a coincidence. Indeed, Volendam might just be the most picturesque village in Holland. The village is known for its traditional fishing boats, adorable rows of wooden houses, and typically Dutch clothing. Volendam has a beautiful little harbor, a cheese shop, museums, good restaurants and lots of fish stands.

  1. What a nice town in North Holland! I have been to Edam once before and I think Volendam was the location of the harbor of Edam? Those pictures are fantastic.
