Hi there! I just wanted to share a quick DIY I did a while ago. I had found these blank little notebooks and wanted to create some kind of fun pattern. I’ve been seeing (stupid pun intended) a lot of snazzy eye-patterns around lately, so I was inspired!

To be honest, I’ve been working digitally for so long that I started missing drawing by hand, so I may share some more DIY’s now and then (though working “analogue” is not always my strongest skill, so bear with me). Here are the steps:

  1. Find a blank notebook.
  2. Use a (spray)paint of your own choice and spray/paint the notebook cover very lightly.
  3. Let it dry for about 10 minutes.
  4. Draw on your pattern with black acrylic paint.
  5. Let it dry once more and you’re done!

Once completely dry, you might want to spray on an additional type of protective transparent layer, but I didn’t have any available, so I didn’t (and it’s holding pretty well still)!
